Weipa Region and Town

Weipa is just a mining town, right? Wrong!

It really is so much more. There’s fishing, amazing beach camping, sunsets, a ton of history. And some of the history is great and some not so great. And of course there’s a bauxite mine.

Apart from the mining, Weipa hosts a growing tourism industry. With many fishing opportunities. It has a great reputation as one of the Cape York’s top fishing spots.

It’s a friendly community that makes it so much more than just a mining town.
