About Tracy
I am very fortunate to live and work in Bamaga 32kms from the most northern point of Australia, The Tip, Pajinka. I have a real 9 to 5 job as assistant manager at BP Bamaga. So I get to meet tourists every day of the tourist season.
My Passion
When I’m not working at my ‘real’ job I’m fishing, on the road or tracks swagging it and meeting tourists. My other job is Explore Cape York. This is my true love. I am passionate about helping others to explore and experience all that Cape York has to offer.
They say you can take the girl out of Cape York but you can’t take the Cape out of the girl. If you were to ask me what I love most about my home I would struggle to give an answer. I have lived here for over 13 years. And it is so much more than bush, beaches, tracks, camping, fishing, 4WD driving and motorcycle rides, the people and the history. I guess you could say it’s the whole package.
Sharing My Passion
Over the years the tourists have changed. It used to mainly be those that camped and hit the 4WD tracks. But now people come to 4WD with little experience and want to learn and embrace the off-road life. We have lots more tourists these days and more asking questions to help them explore.
I discovered there were no current books or websites that helped them to truly explore Cape York. And so I started ‘Explore Cape York’. It’s my way of sharing this amazing place with everyone.
