Two Ways To Get There

From Cooktown you can take the 250km+ Starke – Wakooka.

This is the most challenging way. And most prefer to do it over 2 days. Be prepared for some real 4WD driving after Starke Station.

There will be bulldust, washouts and stone jump-ups. And earlier in the dry season swamps and bogs.

Best to be prepared to pull the winch out.

The other way is a 124km track off the Lakefield Road via Kalpowar Crossing.

It is shorter and easier at the beginning but still requires good preparation and 4WD driving skills.
